PANAJI: BJP Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar on Sunday filed his nomination for the submit of speaker, the election to which is scheduled on Tuesday. The final day for nominations is Monday.
Tawadkar, who's from the BJP cadre and a college trainer, by career, filed three units of nominations.
He was accompanied by CM-designate Pramod Sawant, Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, Shiroda MLA Subhash Shirodkar, Sanguem MLA Subhash Phal Desai and others.
Sawant mentioned that on behalf of BJP, Tawadkar, who has been elected thrice, filed his nomination for the submit of speaker. Sawant mentioned that Tawadkar will get elected with a thumping majority.
“We've got 25 MLAs within the meeting and there's a chance that two extra MLAs might help Tawadkar in getting elected,” he mentioned.
Tawadkar, a college trainer, was sport ministers in former CM Manohar Parrikar’s authorities in 2012. Tawadkar was first elected within the 2005 byelection from Poinguinim. He was re-elected in 2007. Publish delimitation in 2012, he acquired elected from Canacona and was made minister.
Tawadkar contested as an impartial in 2017 after he was denied the BJP ticket. Police to deploy 2,000 personnel for swearing-in safety
