HYDERABAD: A prehistoric petroglyph (rock carving) website has been discovered within the dense forests of Bhupalpally district.
The stone carvings within the ‘Vencharanigutta’ cave within the forests close to the pond in Neredupally village in Bhupalpally mandal of Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district was found by Ok Ravipatel, a member of the ‘Kotha Telangana Charitra Brundam’ (KTCB).
“Within the petroglyphs, a person is holding a big sword and behind his hand is a bull with lengthy horns. Human figures appear to be overlapped on the bull. Two animals (unidentified) collectible figurines overlap, and their look is uncommon and uncommon in stone artwork. The one present in ‘Vencharanigutta’ cave resembles the humped bulls discovered within the carvings of Kethavaram in Andhra Pradesh, Edithanur, Vargal, Ratnapur and Venkatapuram in Telangana.
