Ludhiana: The police, on Friday, booked a head constable for dishonest and forgery as he faked the signature of an assistant commissioner of police (licensing and safety unit) to cancel a firearm licence. The FIR was lodged after the ACP wrote to the Division 5 police about it.
It has been filed underneath sections 420 (dishonest), 465 (punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery for beneficial safety, will and so forth), 468 (forgery for goal of dishonest), and 471 (utilizing as real a cast doc) of the IPC towards accused head constable Davinder Singh, deputed on the licensing unit of Ludhiana police commissionerate.
ACP, licensing unit, Saravjeet Singh mentioned, “Kawaldeep Phoolka, a Gurdev Nagar resident who has three licensed weapons, had utilized for the deletion and cancellation of his firearm licence. The ACP then wrote to the police station for registering a case towards the accused.
