Dharwad: The listening to on the elections to the posts of mayor and deputy mayor of the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Company (HDMC) Council was adjourned for 4 weeks by the Dharwad Bench of the Karnataka excessive courtroom. Congress corporator Shambugouda Salimani filed a writ petition within the excessive courtroom, looking for instructions to the state authorities to carry elections to the posts of mayor and deputy mayor.
In his petition, Salimani had contended that, regardless of elections to the HDMC Council having been held eight months in the past, the state authorities had not issued a notification to conduct the election to the posts of mayor and deputy mayor.
The state authorities had been deferring the elections to the highest posts of the HDMC Council by citing many causes, he acknowledged. The excessive courtroom stated that the problem wanted to be deliberated upon at size, and adjourned the listening to for 4 weeks.
