CHENNAI: IIT-Madras researchers have developed a structured mannequin to assist in manufacturing of bio-cement, an alternate course of for manufacturing cement by reducing down on carbon dioxide emissions.
The method is known as microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) by which calcium carbonate precipitates are shaped by microorganisms and used to supply bio-cement. Micro organism like s pasteurii are used.
