HUBBALLI: The state authorities has determined to construct a student-friendly hostel to accommodate a minimum of 1,000 college students on Karnatak College premises, Dharwad.
The proposed hostel can be constructed at a value of Rs 250 crore below the Deendayal Upadhyaya scheme. The social welfare division has requested the varsity to supply 10 acres to construct the hostel to supply higher amenities and allow SC-ST, OBCs and minority college students to pursue greater training at reasonably priced value.
In line with a supply, many college students from backward communities are discontinuing training because of lack of lodging and meals. The federal government doesn't need college students to discontinue their training simply because hostels should not out there. The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Hostel Complexes have been deliberate as many authorities hostels at numerous districts are operating from rented premises.
To beat these issues, the state authorities has deliberate to construct a 1000-bed hostel complexes for college students within the state. It has deliberate to arrange a hostel complicated in 5 fundamental academic centres in Belagavi, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru and Mysuru within the title of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya to advertise greater training within the state.
Social welfare division joint director Purushotham NR instructed STOI, “The secretary to the social welfare division has directed us to take approval from the VCs of all universities within the state the place hostel complexes are deliberate to be constructed. Karnataka College, Dharwad vice-chancellor KB Gudasi stated the social welfare division had requested 10 acres within the college premises to construct a hostel. This matter can be mentioned within the subsequent syndicate assembly to be held by the top of this month, he added.
