KOLKATA: Guard rails alongside a 3-km-long stretch of the principle arterial street in New City has been painted with faces of illustrious personalities and motifs from their works, all in an illusionary 3D artwork type, which presents commuters a flipbook view of the artwork.
The NKDA assigned architects Ayan Roy and Soumyodeep Das, co-founders of architectural agency, VBRIDGE, to color the railings within the distinctive means, which has been completed from the Mahisbathan field bridge to Biswa Bangla Gate. “We have been suggested by NKDA chairman Debashis Sen to work on city designing on a 3km stretch in New City. We determined to have an phantasm artwork on the railings. As we drew Satyajit Ray’s face on the railing, we broke it into 12 railings, every riveted on a composite panel. After we see it from a distance, it offers the texture of a single and full image. It's a flipbook type of idea,” stated Roy.
“It is a new experiment being completed with the assistance of younger architects. Other than work of eminent personalities, photos depicting protected driving and a inexperienced New City have been painted,” stated NKDA chairman Debashis Sen.
