GUWAHATI: As Gujarat legislator Jignesh Mevani returned residence after securing bail in an assault case filed by a girl sub-inspector of the state police, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned the girl officer desires to problem the bail order within the excessive courtroom.

Barpeta district choose Aparesh Chakravarty, in his order granting Mevani bail on Friday, mentioned the FIR accusing the legislator of assaulting and making an attempt to outrage the modesty of a girl police sub-inspector within the presence of two male police officers inside a shifting automobile was "false".
Mevani walked free 9 days after he was arrested from his residence state by the Assam police for his tweet in opposition to PM Narendra Modi.
