The Hassanabad Bridge in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan area collapsed because of floods over the weekend. The glacier is reportedly melting because of the warmth that led to the floods.

The historic Hassanabad Bridge in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan area was destroyed on Saturday because of flood water from a glacial lake. The bridge which stood on the Karakoram Freeway was swept away by floodwaters of the Shishper glacier positioned close to Mount Shishpar within the northern a part of Pakistan.

It's reported that the glacier is melting because of the warmth which is resulting in an increase in water stage, inflicting floods.

A video shared by Pakistan's Federal Minister Local weather Change and Senator Sherry Rehman, reveals dramatic visuals of the bridge crumbling and falling away as water ranges rise. Folks standing near the bridge are requested to maneuver away because the bridge is swept away. WATCH
