BENGALURU: Simply days after investigators hinted on the police sub-inspector (PSI) recruitment rip-off having occurred in examination centres even exterior Kalaburagi, 12 individuals who had cracked the now-annulled examination have been arrested in Bengaluru on Saturday. The recent FIR filed on the Excessive Grounds police station names 22 candidates, who had taken the examination in three centres in Bengaluru, as accused. Narasimhamurthy said that 172 candidates who had written examinations in Bengaluru have been chosen and that the CID issued notices to all of the candidates to supply their corridor ticket and carbon copy of their OMR (optical mark recognition) sheets, of whom 168 produced the identical between April 20 and 21.
CID police seized and despatched the OMR sheets and carbon copies to Forensic Science Laboratory, Madiwala, for scientific examination. A subsequent FSL report submitted to CID on April 28 confirmed tampering of OMR sheets of twenty-two of the 168 candidates.

In keeping with sources, three amongst 12 arrested candidates are police constables.
